General Concepts and Site Preparation
● Define immediate implant placement and its rationale, especially in esthetic and posterior zones
● Understand prosthetically driven, 3D implant positioning for esthetic success
● Identify correct drill entry points (palatal wall in anterior, furcation bone in molars)
● Recognize importance of atraumatic extraction, including root sectioning in molars
● Describe proper drill angulation (mesiodistal and buccolingual) and use of paralleling pins
● Differentiate drilling protocols for different bone densities (D1–D4)
● Understand drill sequence, including rationale for extending drilling depth 2 mm beyond implant length
● Learn when to omit the final drill in soft bone to optimize primary stability
